Makeup Mondays! Happy Halloween-Lip Treats!

Hi Dolls!

Happy Halloween, I have a hot trend treat! It's FALL and it's all about a bright color lip!

So I'm here to share with you some fabuous pinks & magentas to rock this fall!

Let's start with my favorite and easy makeup product: "CHUBBIES!" these are pencils but the texture is like a lipstick! If you haven't tried it, you must!! Sephora has awesome colors and really good prices!

The one I am using lately is Strawberry Delish! It's $12, a great price!
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P273305&categoryId=B70

I Heart the awesome texture too, creamy and smooth! It's really easy to put on! :)

This is how it looks on! Fabulous! :) PS-I never realized I had so much hair on my face! hilarious! LOL

The other product is an actual lipstick! It's from L'Oreal's Infallible Lipstick Line! The color is Endurring Berry! It was around $10!

What I LUV about this lipstick that it goes on creamy and smooth, it doesn't feel heavy and thick like most long-lasting lipsticks feel like! Also, this lipstick last for at least 4-6 hours, I apparently "eat" my lipstick and glosses (this is what I have been told my makeup artists) so this is a true lasting lipstick , a true endorsement! :)

Also when applying such bright lipsticks, remember you have to do the NO LIPSTICK on TEETH move, if you don't know, here's how you do it!

Looks a little perverted but it really works!

Also the lipstick is a matte color, which would be nice for work! Check it out!

And NO LIPSTICK on the TEETH! Winning!! LOL

Enjoy these fabulous lips treats! xoxo

REAL Curly & Wavy Hair Insider Tips!

Hi Dolls!

I have some great insider tips for curly and wavy hair ravens! Hope you enjoy thr info!

Did you know an estimated 65 percent of women have naturally curly or wavy hair? It’s true, and many are guilty of styling with the wrong set of hair rules. Think your waves are uncontrollable? You might just be making a classic hair-care mistake. Common complaints like frizz, tangles, and texture are easily fixed when you know the proper way to tame your mane. We asked curly-hair guru and owner of Devachan Salons and Spa, Lorraine Massey, to separate fact from fiction so you can master your sexy spirals—and keep the bad-hair days at bay!

MYTH: You can brush your curls into submission (i.e., straight).
“It may seem like you can flatten or smooth your curly hair by brushing it. But the act of brushing or combing your hair actually disturbs the curls’ natural formation and ruffles each strand’s cuticle,” says Lorraine. “This causes the curls to break apart, and the result of these dispersed curls is frizz, frizz, and more frizz.” Instead, use your fingers to comb through your curls only when your hair is wet and saturated with conditioner when you’re in the shower. “Curly hair is fragile, and the conditioner prevents breakage,” Lorraine explains. Once you get out of the shower, gently scrunch in a silicone-free, alcohol-free gel into soaking-wet hair. This captures the curl’s natural formation and again, prevents frizz. Then don’t touch your hair until it’s totally dry. “Touching before the curls are properly formed and dry causes the same friction as a brush. It disperses the curls and causes the ongoing dreaded frustration of the frizz!” says Lorraine.
MYTH: Any shampoo that says it’s for curly hair will do.
Absolutely not! “Traditional shampoos have been causing curly girls to hate their hair for decades. That’s because traditional shampoos contain harsh detergents called sulfates, such as sodium lauryl sulfate,” says Lorraine. Sulfates are foaming agents that strip curly hair of its natural oils, and since curly hair is naturally dry and has little to no natural oil, it needs all the moisture it can retain and absorb to be healthy and frizz-free. (Sulfates are the same foaming agents in dish soap and laundry detergent, and you wouldn’t wash your hair with those products, would you?) Even some shampoos that say they’re for curly hair contain these ingredients, so beware—and read labels! Instead, “cleanse hair with 100% sulfate-free cleansers and shampoos, and if you can’t find one at a store near you, cleanse your hair with silicone-free conditioner,” says Lorraine. “What cleans the hair and scalp the most is friction so you can just apply your sulfate-free cleanser or your conditioner to your finger-tips and firmly but gently massage your scalp to break up dirt.” Then rinse the condition out with water to remove it from your hair.

MYTH: Conditioner is optional.
“Conditioner is a curly girl’s BFF!” gushes Lorraine. “Once curly hair fibers are sufficiently hydrated with conditioner, they will hold onto the moisture they need and the frizz will go away. Curly hair is porous, but the conditioner fills the holes, a bit like spackle on a wall. It also smooths and fills in the surface so that light can reflect off it.” Leave some or all of your conditioner in your hair rather than rinsing. Generally, the tighter the curl or the drier your hair is, the more conditioner you need to leave in. Also, the frizzier, your hair typically is, the more conditioner you need to leave in. “Remember: Frizz is just a curl begging for more moisture—which is conditioner!” says Lorraine.

MYTH: Curly hair can be cut the same as straight hair.
“This couldn’t be further from the truth. Curly hair has a mind of its own! So curly hair needs to be cut when it’s dry, not wet,” says Lorraine. “That’s because wet curls and dry curls are like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Some curls easily hit half way down your back when they’re wet, but then spring up as much as 6 to 10 inches when they dry!” The problem? “If you get your hair cut when it’s wet, once it dries it will contract and shrink to a totally different length. You’ll likely realize that too much was taken off, and you’ll look like a shaved poodle and need months or years for your hair to grow back,” says Lorraine. Also, we wear our hair dry, so that’s how it should be cut. The point? “Curly hair should be cut only when the curls are dry and in their natural place. If your hairstylist insists on cutting your hair when it’s wet, then know that you do have the choice of walking (or running!) the other way and finding a stylist who is willing to cut your curls the right way—when they’re dry.”

Tips from: Lorraine Massey is the owner of Devachan Salons and Spa (three in New York City and four on the West Coast) and is the best-selling co-author of Curly Girl: The Handbook. Since opening her first Salon in 1993, Lorraine has worked tirelessly to help women learn to embrace their hair's natural texture and love what they have. She has also helped create a collection of products, DevaCurl, formulated specifically for curly-hair.

Drink Your Skin Glowing!

Hi My Dolls!
I recently posted a pic of my new daily ritual on Facebook and my friends wanted to know what's in it and what can it do for your skin?

My glowing skin recipe is a modified version from celeb nutritionist, Kimberly Synder (clients include, Drew Barrymore, Olivia Wilde, Dr Oz):
http://www.kimberlysnyder.net/

GLOWING SKIN SMOOTHIE
(recipe makes 1- 16 oz smoothie)
1 cup of water
1 cup of organic spinach-raw
4-5 leaves of organic romaine lettuce
2 stalks of organic celery
1/2 organic apple (include skin)
1/2 organic pear (include skin)
1/2 organic banana
1/2 cup of mango
few squeezes of a lemon
1 tablespoon of flax seed or oil

-Make sure every veggie and fruit is thoughouly washed & cleaned.
-I own my new fav kitchen appliance a Vitamix! (FYI-Costco has these blenders for almost $300 cheaper!)

Check out this link
http://www.vitamix.com/index.asp?COUPON=07-0063&002=2180404&004=2079073683&005=101188180&006=8460234123&007=Search&008=&gclid=CJ-qx_bC_asCFQ175QodwCUimg

1. Start off with blending the spinach & lettuce first, start on low speeds, mix until smooth
2. Add celery, apples, pears on higher speed blend
2. Add bananas, mangos, lemon juice & flax seed

Here's how it looks!
I like drinking it in a wine glass! Makes me feel fancy!!LOL!

So WHY am I drinking this? As we age, we need all the help we can get! Topical creams are part of the arsenal, another part is diet! Yes, we reallly need our vitamins and drinking them is the best way to go!
With the veggies, fruits and seeds in this smoothie, we are getting the following nutrients in our bodies, that makes our skin look healthy and beautiful!
1. Vitamin C
2. Vitamin E
3. Vitamin B
4. Beta Carotene
5. Fatty Acids
6. Phytonutrients
7. Lutien
8. Lycopene
9. CoQ10

All these nutrients help to fight free radicals (killer to our youthful skin), helps to even out our skin tone (our tanning days are catchin up, for real!) and also hydrates and helps increase skin lipids (it's all about moisture ladies!)

Another side note, this smoothie really fills me up, spinach is a good source of protein and also I have loads of energy too!!

Stay Glowing Ladies! XOXO

work-it out wednesdays!! BOB HARPER GRAVITY STRAPS!!

Ladies, let's get honest here! Winter is coming around the corner and with the cold comes comfort food that seems to keep us happy and warm. The sad truth with this fact, our waistlines also seem to increase-thank God for baggy sweaters! (wink, wink!)
But you don't have to let the cold de-motivate staying in shape! My newest love is TRX training! If you haven't tried it, you must, you can get a serious sweat and workout in 30 minutes! So I have been eyeing the TRX bands for my at-home gym, but didn't want to spend around $200 bucks, until I came across Bob Harper's (yes, that trainer from one of my fav shows-Biggest Loser!) products!

Check out these amazing bands and at $39.99!!

MAKEUP MONDAYS!

hey ladies!

just bought the new maybelline volume express falsies mascara!

maybelline claims the product will do the following:
-FALSE LASH GLAM IN A TUBE - NOW GOES FLARED!
-300% MORE VISIBLE LASHES. Winged out & over the top, instantly!
-PRO-KERATIN FORMULA + SPOON CURLER BRUSH
-WATERPROOF

here is a pic of what maybelline claims the product produces:
here are my visuals:
I applied it on clean lashes, 2 coats and then curled them.

I have to admit, I'm a fake eyelash junkie, so nothing compares to REAL fake lashes! But this product has promise! The wand was a little too bendable, I needed it to be stiffer for easier application. My lashes did get more volume like 50% more and had definition like "Tammy Faye Baker-like", which is coming back into style! (not sure if I will be a fan of that!) The keratin formula creates a thick coating on the lashes to create this effect!

For a $7.99 mascara, it was a good performer, but did NOT create the same lashes as advertised in their ad, of course! You can purchase this product at any drugstore; CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid and of course Wal-Mart and Target! or on their website below:
http://www.maybelline.com/products/148/eyes/mascara/volum-express-falsies-flared-waterproof/very-black/000?shadeId=815

Have fun winking your BIG lashes! xoxo

I HEART DEALS!

Ok ladies! I love to shop, it's really a passion of mine and a constant struggle with finding more closet space! LOL!  One of my MUST HAVES for Fall/Winter is a khaki, army like coat with a hood! So cute to wear casually or with a dress as well!
So I have been eyeing this jacket from Andrew Marc-and it was way out of my budget!

http://www.andrewmarc.com/womens/shop-marc-new-york/hyde.html

Unitl, I found this jacket at TJ MAXX, normally cost $498, I got it for $149!!! CRAZINESS! Also this coat has an extra lining that can be taken off, making it even more versatile! The time is now to get your must have coats before they are gone! This buy made my weekend! Cheers and Happy Shopping!
